At Coln House School hospitality is considered an important vocational area for pupils as it incorporates, learning to work as a team, planning ahead, problem solving and providing a service for customers. Thus, students not only learn the moral component, but also through it sharpening other skills, acquire a certain type of knowledge. Acquiring knowledge takes place in three ways: monitoring (at home/outside) + theoretical base at school, essay service will help with this, as well as reproduction at school, in the form of practice and tasks. Academic pupils are encouraged to study for a GCSE in Hospitality, whilst all abilities are supported in planning coffee mornings, preparing their own lunches, learning how the school kitchen works and planning and preparing a leavers lunch for year 11 pupils.
