Ultimate Frisbee

frisbee1Blue Arse Flies visited Coln House School during the summer festival to offer an alternative new sport for all the visiting schools and our pupils. During the 2 days Ade and Bex delivered exciting new skills to all pupils and managed to hook many new faces to the growing sport.

On day 2 we were graced with the presence of Merrick (GB Player) who with the support of his other coaches managed to engage and excite the pupils further with the Frisbee (The hammer throw was an exciting skill that all the pupils loved to watch and attempt to replicate).

The Blue Arse Flies Ultimate Frisbee Club has been established for over 16 years. They regularly compete on the national and international scene, with the club competing at both European Clubs and World Clubs since '99.
frisbee2Last year they competed in Prague at The World Club Championships taking on the best in the world. More recently and they have just returned from their annual trip to Bruges.

They have a variety of experience in the team and can boast current GB players and many past GB players. They are always on the lookout for new players whether they are new to the game or have some experience.

Ultimate Frisbee was a great addition to the festival and all the pupils enjoyed, especially at the end of each day where Coln staff and pupils joined the coaches for one massive game. Honourable mentions should go to Amy Round for catching a wicked Hammer throw to score, Joe Bradley and Rob Westmore for picking up the game very quick and Kaya Hilton for waiting in the score zone for almost 50min before eventually picking up a winning score.
